Buckwing Decoys

I recall a thread on here about these decoys, but I couldnt seem to find it.

I just bought the hen decoy online when I was ordering some other items.

I recall someone saying they are great and someone else saying that they are too shiny.

Did I waste my money?

I would like to hear any experiences you have had with this decoy.

Thanks
Bill

P.S. - This is my first year turkey hunting.

RE: Buckwing Decoys

s4bill,

Buckwings are nice and easily transportable. They will do the work nicely, but, like people have said, they do have a bright irridecense shine to them. I gently rubbed mine down with #000 steel wool, and it toned down the shine a tad, but didn' t do any damage to them.

Check the thread that you were wondering about (it' s called " Buckwing Decoys & Shine - a test).
