ANY NE. MISSOURI HUNTERS?
 

I AM LEAVING FOR NE. MO ON SATURDAY, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW THE BIRDS ARE RESPONDING TO THE CALLS. I WILL BE THERE FOR 6 DAYS HOPE TO DO WELL THIS YEAR, LAST YEAR I HAD A HARD TIME GETTING ON BIRDS. I BOUGHT A DOUBLE BULL BLIND THIS YEAR AND WAS THINKING ABOUT SETTING IT ON AN EDGE OF A CREEK AND PASTURE? ANY SUGGESTION??????

The birds were working good last Monday here in Northern MO. It only took my nephew and I 2 1/2 hrs. to take 2 gobblers. Both birds came to the call. But I went out with a friend today and we couldn' t get anything to respond to the calls. Just depends a lot on the weather sometimes, today was less than favorable. The blinds work well, my nephew got his Monday out of an Ameristep Doghouse set up at the very edge of a pasture backed up against the treeline. Good luck this weekend Ill. Turkey Hunter, weather is supposed to be decent, you should have a great time!!

Il turkey hunter where in NE Mo I' LL be ther this coming Fri.we will be hunting about 40 Miles south of Keokuk. MOturkey tamer are the hens sitting yet I was in the southern tip of ILL last week and the hens were on the nest so it made late morning hunting productive I got a nice bird at 11:00 a.m.

Hoss, the hens are sitting on the nests now. I have seen toms breeding hens twice in the last 3 days. There are fewer hens with the jakes and gobblers later in the morning around here now. Like you said, late morning hunting is good for those who hang in there! Good luck!:)

Thanks Turkeytamer I,LL be at it all morn unless I bust one I do need to go to iowa and pick up a new GSP pup one day while I' m there but the turks come first Thanks again for the info:)
