Opening Day Success In Missouri!!
 

My nephew and I both scored on Missouri' s opening day this morning, was a great experience! He was set up on the other side of the timber from me in his Doghouse blind w/ his 5 yr. old son and my niece' s boyfriend who had never turkey hunted and wanted to tag along to see what the excitement was about. My nephew called in 2 strutters, took the one that offered the best shot....21 lbs., 9" beard @ 6:30 a.m.. I stayed in my field and kept calling, played around w/ 2 jakes who were obsessed w/ my decoys for a while and about 1/2 hr. after they wandered off, struck up a gobble w/ a boat paddle box call. Called him from the field where my nephew was earlier, through the timber, gobbling all the way! He came around behind me, spittin' and drummin' , saw the dekes and headed for them....and ran into a load of #5' s @ 8:30 a.m., 21 1/4 lbs., 9 1/2" beard, spur length was 7/8" & 1" . What a great way to start the season!:D

Way to go MTT, I came close this morning but nothing yet, he was close enough for about 45 minutes I could here him drumming every few seconds but I never got a glimpse. Congrats on 2 nice birds.
