I need help in hunting in FL
 

My cousin and I are 61 and would love to hunt in FL before we pass on. We are of course out of state. I just need all the info you muster. They was a great site I will look for on here that JW posted I think. So I will try to find it also.

I never realized how exspensive these hunts are and it wasn't just the link above, it was some other outfitters as well....I think I'd take my chances on public land

I have some land next to a management area in Fl. I knew where some big birds were last year over there, I went 4 times, went to the check in station and I always was number 3 to 12 each time I entered the woods. all four times I counted more than 30 trucks in the little area i was hunting I was set up on a dead end road and about 400 yards from the road out in the cut down by the edge of the woods were this big tom had been struting alot before the season. My truck was about 100 yds from the dead end and every morning I had 5 to 9 trucks pass my truck and start in to where I was setup. I went back at the end of the season because I knew that bird didn't get shot. He gobbled 7 times before he hit the ground, when he flew down he flew into the road and started running to me. I had him running down the road to me thenI heard a truck crank up from around the curve and they came speeding around the curve with there guns out the windows, the bird got away and sodid those crooks! Needless to say I will not be back on public land as that was a waste of time and money!
