I have a Remington 870 SPS-T 12gauge and I am shooting the old remington Hevi-Shot 3 1/2 #5. I was woundering if any body out there can tell me whats the best choke tube for this? I am using the Remington Factory Hevi-Shot ckoe tube tube as of now.

In general, the Primos Jellyhead usually shoots HeviShot loads very well. Each gun is different, but I have never seen a bad pattern from using A JellyHead choke, Remington shotgun, and HeviShot.

Every gun is different, butthis is a good starting point.

I have the same exact gun, except a thumbhole stock, and use the same exact load. I still have over a box of the old Rem. Hevi shot magnums 3 1/2 # 5. I use a Jellyhead and these shells pattern verywell with it. I've killed many turkeys with them, some out to 50yards.I have shot many shells with my setup, and the best pattern has been with the Rem. Wingmaster HD 3 1/2" 6 shot. This shell even outperforms the old hevi shot on paper, but as long as I have some old hevi mags, I am going to use them. When I run out, I will go with the Wingmaster, that is if I am still using the Jellyhead. If you are going to use the old Rem. Hevi shot, the Jellyhead choke is a great choice, and won't cost you but about $35 to $40. How much of the old Rem. Hevi shot do youhave?

I agree with perkins, I have a Primos Tightwad .660 choke on my 870. I also shoot 3.5" #5's, but Federals not remi, and it shoots great.

Do you have the magnums or the high velocity? The magnums pattern better with the Jellyhead than the high velocity. I think you would be happy with the Jellyhead and the old Rem. hevi shot.
