got a question for you guys
 

I' m bowhuntin, and the turkeys have quit gobblin and they won' t even come to you.
I' ve found several dustin sites, and a watering hole.
which would you hunt as an ambush spot, and what time of day would you hunt it.

I' m going to say hunt the water hole, in the early A.M. just after day break. When they come off the roost they' re going to come to water and then feed, so set up a jake and a couple hen decoys if you have em and as soon as it cracks daylight, start calling every once and awhile. Even if they dont come early, they have to water sometime!:D Good luck to you Bo!

I would say hit the dusting area first thing in the morning till about 10-11 am then move to the water around noon provided the temp moved on up. Reason I' m saying that is on our recent trip to Tx there was a water tank next to the camp a couple of 100 yds away(the next closest one was over a mile away) and the birds started moving in on it around noon and stayed around it until 2 or 3 feeding close by. In fact there was one hen for two days in a row slipped out there and started doing an assembly call and for about the next 15-20 minutes birds were pouring into the water hole. Just my experience.

Strut, I think it' s one of them " lull in gobblin" perriods. the weather and temps have been perfect for gobblin. I figure also their henned up, and that' s the reason for not comin in to calls. but even when their henned up, they' ll usually gobble on the roost, so I' m thinkin it' s just a lull in gobblin. they do this ever year down here.
they' ll start back gobblin in a few days.

BB, I think my jake is the very thing that cost me a big turkey this evenin.
he walked out of a clearcut right in to the branch bottom where I had my blind.
he stopped about 6 or 7yds from my decoys( a hen and a jake) then turned and started the other way. I had to draw my bow then swing way around to get a shot at him through the door of my blind. I hit a limb. I think if I' d had my hen only he would have strutted right on up to her. the rest of the season, I' m usin a hen only.
