Default Winchester SX3

I've got a Winchester SX3 3 1/2" that I'm planning to use for turkeys this season, it's the regular synthetic stocked model. I was wondering if anyone hasused one of these for turkeys, and what choke worked best in it?

Forgot to add, its basically the same thing as a Browning Gold/Silver, uses the same choke system and everything if that helps.

I have one Ive tried a few chokes in it, Mina has a 24"bbl. The X2 is overbored Invector plus choke.
I wouldnt use anything less than a Primos Jellyhead its a .670 anything tighter is to tight for it.
I tryed an Indian Creek .665 first, It was to tight and patterns were blown.Ive had great results with Indian Creek in other guns.
The Kicks .680 was good but they dont reccomend hevishot in there chokes. I waiting for a Rhino .670 that should be a good one.

What loads have you tried out of this gun with the chokes you mentioned? I was planning on trying an Indian Creek with Hevi-13 #6's to start off with, some people on another sight suggested this as a good starting point.

You can't shoot heavy shot through a Kicks but according to them you can shoot Win Xtended through it.That is what they recommend.

I just put an Indian Creek in my Gold 3.5" and from everything I've read it is an excellent set up. I haven't got to pattern it yet but I have high expectations. Your SX3 should have similar results as any Gold or Silver.

jgilbert; I have gotten excellent patterns with an Indian Creek .665, and Hevi-13 3" 2oz #6's.

trkyhntr247; Call Indian Creek (talk to Mike or Stuart), let them know what is happening with your pattern and they will get you one that will work.

Well I'm also looking into getting some of the 4x5x7 Nitro's now so I emailed them today asking what they thought of the IC chokes since they recommend Rhino and Jellyhead on their site. Hopefully they've tested the IC and can give me some good feedback, I'm pretty well set on that choke since I can use it for ducks and geese when I hit the big water too.

From everything that I have seen the Indian Creek will perform well with the Nitro's, but I do not believe that Nitro has done any testing with it.
If you get an e-mail back from Nitro consider yourself lucky. They usually stay really busy churning out shells.

Good choice in a turkey gun. "IF" I ever decide to up-grade to a semi-auto, that would be the very gun I'd go to as well. I presently own a Rhino in my 1300 and most likely would go the same route in the SX3 as well.
