I HAVE NOT PATTERNED THE HEVI-SHOT ON ANYTHING BUT A TURKEY' S HEAD BUT AT 45 YDS. WITH 3.5 X 4 IN AN 870 EXP SUPER MAG USING STAR DOT CHOKE HE NEVER MOVED AFTER THE SHOT.

thanks maytom! sportsmen like yourself provide the tech stuff to prevent the rest of us from wasting time at the firing range pounding our shoulders.it is an advantage to just go get the shell that experts have endorsed.once you have the correct tube for your gun and stick with one size shot, it narrows the selection process to pattern. thanks again>

Maytom--help me out with a question on the Nitro HeviShot. I went to their website and saw they sell HeviShot in blends--4x6x7.5, etc. In most states I hunt turkeys in, shot that is smaller than #6 is illegal. In other words, the blends that use 7.5 HeviShot are probably illegal. Do you know if that' s true?? I e-mailed Nitro re this, no reply thus far. Maybe this has been a topic on the forum already, if so my apologies, but can someone give me the reference?

Good point!! My guess is that if it was all size #7.5 shot it would, but since there is #4' s and #5' s in that load as well, that should make them legal!! Just my guess!!;)
