Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
Which gobbler decoy do you like and why. Realism and portablibity are top priorities IMO.
Im leaning towards the Flambeau King Strut or the Primos B-Mobile |
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
i have the b-mobile. i like it so far. as far as potability its not great but i love the realism.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I have Pretty Boy. He is by far the best looking strutting decoy i have seen. Just like the other strutting decoys he is alittle hard to lug around but i have a bag that i can just throw over my shoulder and go. It works great if you are hunting field edges or such.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I used the Pretty Boy last year & it worked well
|
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I have a Pretty Boy also. Very realistic and the last decoy I'll buy. There coming out with something new every year.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
i use the b-mobile along with the she-mobile... andtheywork pretty good together(especially when you have a real fan on the back :)). they are both very realistic

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
Thanks for the input guys. I havent looked at the pretty boy yet but ill do that soon.
Has anyone used the King Strut? I really like the head color on it compared to the others which use to much white IMO. It also allows you to use a real beard, fan, and wings if you want. Only $75 bucks at Cabelas |
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
They have these on sale at a local sporting goods store near my home for $30. They don't look as good as the B-Mobile or Pretty Boy, but they are much easier to carry around. I really doubt the toms are going to know the difference between the three. I would go cheapest, because to a tom, they all look the same.I may go buy one just because I don't already have a strutting tom decoy. You can stick a real turkey fan on afoam hen decoy and probably do just as good as you would with one of the strutter dekes.

I got a B-Mobil last year but have not used it yet.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
B-mobile get my vote

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I use the "Casinova" by Ol Tom. Very realistice to me, and the tomsI've takenwith the help ofthis decoy seem to think so to.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
On regards to the head being so white with the pretty boy......I took some red paint and a brush and just lightly brushed some red onto his head and it look great.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I just got the Pretty Boy and Girl combo for Christmas at Sportsman's Warehouse. It was on sale for 69.99. I think they made some changes on them for this year....can't wait to use em.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
Pretty Boy is my fav! I've seen more awesome displaysin just the last couple season hunting over one of these decoys the past 2Springs, than I ever have in my life previously.
|
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
Ole Pretty boy gets my vote.. sure worked last year for me.
|
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
i love my b mobile with a real tail fan and the two primos hens, had many toms come running to fight him....the heads on b moile and pretty boy are so blue and white because those arebreeding colors compared to red which is an agressive color that could possibily scare off the less dominate gobblers

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
Has anyone tried and used the TRANSFAN that came out on the market last year ?
|
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
Another vote for B-Mobile.
|
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
A real decoy from a taxedermist. I use one from time to time.
However, that's unrealistic for most, and combersome at best. I use a B-Mobile...but with some modifications. I use a real tail fan and wings. I also replaced the head by cutting off the original, and using a head that is more colorful and realistic, andI just epoxied the head to the decoy. |
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I bought the B-Mobile last year. I hunted 5 times and every time I had birds come in to the B-Mobile. Not saying the Pretty Boy wouldn't work as well but I don't own the Pretty Boy. So for me, B-Mobile is the best full strut decoy. I used the synthetic fan last year and it worked great but this year I have the tail feather's from one of the gobblers I got last year and plan on using that for a more realistic looking fan.

RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
bass pro came out with a new gobbler decoy and it looks sweet and it collapes
but i use the pretty boy |
RE: Best Full Strut Gobbler Decoy
I too like the Ol' Tom Cassanova, but have been in on a successful hunt with the b-mobile. IMO, I think they will all work. It just depends on how and where you hunt and how quick you want to move and so on.
