Jellyhead ?

I've patterned hevi 13 threw mine and it did pretty good... I was wondering if anybody ever shot Win HV loads threw theres and how it did... Mine is a .665

RE: Jellyhead ?

Shooting Winchester HV (black hulls) 1.75oz #6's, my best targets were110 pellets in a 10" circle at 30 yards,80 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards, and 30 pellets in a 10" circle at 50 yards.
I do not like a pattern that has less than 100 evenly spaced pellets in a 10" circle at any given distance so to me it was an honest 30 yard gun.

I always thought that a .665 was to tight to shoot Hevi Shot threw... I have a Kicks Gobbling Thunder in .665... I wonder if the Hevi 123 would patter out of it ok???

The .665 is a great size for Hevi-shot. Still I would not recommend using the Kicks....it is not rated for Hevi-shot.
What Hevi-13 shell are you using?

I shoot a .660 Jelly Head, and with Nitro 4x5x7's it throws softballs at 20-30 yards. I'm sure that it'll do the same with Hevi 13.

I have found that the Hevi-13 3.5" #6's are not very picky about which choke size you use. I have achieved good results with everything from .655-.690. I bet you will have good success with the Jellyhead and these shells.

Out of several non lead loads I have tried with a Jellyhead choke, the Hevi 13's had the worst pattern. I was using the green hulls. I hear they are not as good as the bronze or whites, but it's all I could find around here. You are not going to have a real tight pattern with the Jellyhead. If you want over 125 hits at 40 yards in a 10 inch circle every time, then don't use the Jellyhead. Just remember though, you don't have to have over 100 hits in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards to kill a turkey.

superstrutter is right; the difference between the green hulls and thebronze hulls is night and day. I have never gotten a good pattern with the green hulls. Still at 40 yards with the Jellyhead and the bronze hulls I imagine you should be shooting somewhere around 180-220 pellets in a ten inch circle at 100 yards.
