Its quite common to see a group of toms like that this time of year . they are the ones that didn' t make the team . We have one bunch here that must have a dozen toms in it . Some are pretty good size and some are just young birds . They are usually easier to work than the dominate toms with the hens .

Sounds like a plan to me . I would keep tabs on them without telling anyone.;)

It sounds to me that you have alot of gobblers that want to be the dominant bird.
These birds are emerging into their spring pattern and exerting their place in the pecking order. You have found the roosting area and a strut zone so things are looking pretty good. I would try setting up semi close to the roosting area in a spot that puts you on the prefered travel route to the strutting area. |
