White turkeys
Recently I have been driving down the road, and have noticed two or three toms that are white and black in a alfalfa field, not sure if they have been crossed up or are a freak of nature. I dont have any pictures but will try the next time I go through the area. What do you think?

RE: White turkeys
Sounds like a normal color phase variation. I've seen one once along with a couple other odd looking ones.

RE: White turkeys
Talked to a DNR officer once about a few years ago. He told me it is just a genetic fluke and is more common than many people realize. It is not passed down to offspring. He said it has nothing to do with inter-breeding with domestic turkeys. I saw three gray birds last week in a flock of 18. It was pretty neat and I wished they had beards as they got within 15 yards of my stand.

RE: White turkeys
It would be pretty cool to get a turkey with a white beard :)

RE: White turkeys
My buddy shot one in Montana, ALL WHITE. It was from some wild turkeys getting into a flock of domesticated birds.

RE: White turkeys
I used to have a flock of 6 grey birds mixed with 8 normal black birds, but then the wolves decimated the flock.
