Care for diaphragm call
I was wondering how you guys take care of your diaphragm call? I thought I would place my diaphram call in a large prescription bottle with a mixture of Scope mouthwash and water to help keep it fresh and germ free. And actually I think Listerine would help keep the germs away even better. These calls can be a haven for germs, so I think sanitation is important. I dunno....what do you guys do?

RE: Care for diaphragm call
Kit,be careful keepin calls in mouthwash. It can actually cause the latex to go bad.I usually rinse them in mouthwash then rinse again in water, put somethin between the reeds,I use premade things called tone savers but toothpicks will work fine, put them in an airtight container.I just use a plastic snuff can, then put them in the refrigerater. They' ll keep along time this way.

RE: Care for diaphragm call
I keep mine in the freezer. I will be on my 3rd year with the same calls and these are my main calls. When you take them out of the freezer it will appear the the reeds are not good, but once they thaw the reeds tighten back up.
I would however keep at least one in your vest, because if you are like me you may forget to get them out of the freezer at 4am. I would forget my a$$ at 4am if it wasn' t attached.;) |
