New England 10 ga.

Just bought a new england 10 ga. 24 in. barrel screw in xtra full choke. Just wondering what you guys think about this gun or if anyone hunts with one let me know how you like it. It KICKS like a mule. Overall if you can take the kick i believe it will be a turkey thumper... Thanks.

It will be a turkey thumper, I have an old NE 10 gauge with a fixed full choke and it shoots good, but a buddy has one like yours and it shoots an awesome pattern. One of the tightest patterns I' ve ever saw.

Strut- What choke tube is your buddy useing? I' ve got a kicks in mine and I think my pattern could be tighter. I haven' t had it out hunting but it sure is a " thumper" on my whole upper body! I drilled and tapped mine for a TrueGlo adjustable sight, worked a good load and put it away.

Your NE 10 ga. will serve you well. I used a NE 12 ga. for years. " Thumper" would be a good name for your gun. :)

Strut,

I may be crazy but I' m not stupid, (well that depends who your talking to I guess). :D

I used NE Pardner for years. It was the 3 inch version. I filled the stock with lead to help absorb some of the recoil but that baby can still get your attention. I have only owned one 3 1/2" 12 ga. shotgun in my life and I sold that. I was going through my inventory the other day and found two boxes of T shot that I don' t know what to do with. Maybe I' ll use it to dynamite stumps or something. ;)

I have one that i bought a few years back. I got a Tru Glo choke for it and had it drilled and tapped for a scope mount. Shoots great!!!!! Likes the Winchester HV #4' s...

Mr.LB- Are you taking about the 10ga or the NE Pardner?

I talked to him today and he said that it was an extra-full turkey choke that came with the gun, All it had on it was NEF extra-full turkey.

RE: New England 10 ga.

My NEF 10ga came with that choke also. It patterned pretty good with Fed #4' s. But the Tru Glo choke patterns a hole lot better...

Im wanting to put the tru-glo bead sight on the end. They have one that slips over the barrel but the way this thing kicks it wouldnt stay in place. I got some turkey targets and shot at 20 and 30 yards at 20 had 58 shots in the vitals and 30 had 35 in the vitals using win. supreme no. 5s. Do you all think thats pretty good or not.

RE: New England 10 ga.

Thanks Strut/Mr.Longbeard- I still have the tube that came with the gun and my gun too has the Mossy Oak Bottomland camo. I' ll give the factory tube another try, if that fails I' ll give Mr. Longbeard set-up a try. I haven' t taken it into the woods for hunt yet but do pack it on my trips for a back up gobbler roller. Thanks again for the replys and to Bowtech Shooter for starting this topic:)
