RE: Good Poll Question
I would have to go with Easterns also
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Here in the Capitol of turkey hunting, we hunt only Easterns so that would be my favorite! ;)
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Here in the great state of Washington, where you can hunt three of the four subspecies I would have to say my favorite is the Merriam. I think the white-tipped tail feathers are the prettiest of the three subspecies.

RE: Good Poll Question
I' ve only hunted Easterns and Merriams. Of those two,Merriams are my favorite. The Merriams is the better looking of the two, and the land I hunt them in is more scenic.

RE: Good Poll Question
Eastern all the way!:D
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Dumb ones:D Easterns cause it' s all i can afford to hunt.[:o]
|
RE: Good Poll Question
I' ve only hunted easterns, but would like to hunt Merriams someday. :)
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Right now it is the eastern because that' s all I' ve hunted but in 4 weeks it may be the merriams. That' s when I' m going to Nebraska for the first time.[:-]

RE: Good Poll Question
Mine would have to be the Rio Grande
|
RE: Good Poll Question
I like to hunt the ones with long spurs, and beards that drag the ground!
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Easterns here for me as well!!;)
|
RE: Good Poll Question
I have only hunted Rio' s or a possible Rio/merriam mix. I love the country that they live in. I would also like to hunt merriams, their white tipped fan is awesome.
|
RE: Good Poll Question
I' ve shot them all a few times and would have to say that they all are a great challenge. Seems the terrian is what stands out the most in a good turkey hunt and any Good Old Gobblin' Longbead to add to the Moment of the hunt...BT

RE: Good Poll Question
Well my relative short turkey hunting time(5yrs), Ive been fortunate to hunt 3 of the 4. I live up in Wa St. I think the Merriam' s becuz up here they seem to be the most workable .Our eastern population is growing but the underbrush where they live is so dense and the flocks are relatively small that you probably would walk right by them and they just duck and hide.

RE: Good Poll Question
I' ve hunted easterns and Merriams. Think I' d say Merriams by a slim margin. ;)
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Rio' s
|
RE: Good Poll Question
Until we get Merrriams here in NC, I will go with Easterns :D
