need some info on public hunting
 

I am interested in turkey hunting on public land for the first time this spring. i live in north carolina and from what i have learned....there is a lot of public hunting land in the southwest part of the state.

could anyone give me some info on who i could call that could tell me a good area to hunt, where should i start?

welcom to the board. where are you at in NC? i live in the piedmont area in davidson county but i have hunted several game lands, and know of a few, but which would be best for you depends on where you are. give me a city or town as a point of reference

I live in Watauga County near Boone. I know there is some public land in near by Caldwell County, but I kind of would like the challenge to hunt in another part of the state. With all the public land in the southwest part....I thought that seemed like a good area to start, but who could tell me a good spot to choose?
