Walker' s Game Ear.

Anyone ever tried one of these? I just wonder if they help as much as they say. I have heard that its hard to pinpoint the direction of a sound. I can already hear a turkey farther than I care to walk sometimes, but My wife says that I do need some hearing help.

I know a guy who has poor hearing and he has a Game Ear. He says that he can hear gobbles with it on that he couldn' t hear otherwise. I believe that they could even help a person with good hearing because it is so hard to hear gobbles sometimes depending on terrain and foliage on the trees. Only problem is, the Game Ear is kind of expensive, but probably worth it if you have diminished hearing.

RE: Walker' s Game Ear.

I have a hearing problem( or so the wife says anyways) and a few years back I bought a Walkers Game Ear 2. Although I liked the fact that I could hear alot of things that I`d have missed without it I also found it hard to pinpoint where the sounds came from. I talked to a hearing specialist about that and he recommended that I use 2 of them as that would help distinquish the location of sounds. I never did buy a second one and ended up selling mine to a hunting buddy. He loves it.

I' ve never tried the game ear but I have a pair of hearing aids that I would be lost without. And it definently takes two ears to tell direction. If you have it in only one, everything you hear is comming from the side the aid is on. That' s the only ear that hears it.

I tried it and liked it.......but I too had a hard time pin pointing where the gobbles where coming from. Having two sound like a good idea. I' ll have to remember that when my hearing starts to fade.
