RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
Well, not knowing in advance what the weather will be like (wet/dry), I' ll go with my Quaker Boy Aluminator with a carbon striker. Or maybe a M.A.D. Shipp Wreck mouth call. I' d have to flip a coin. [8D]

RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
i really like my box calls, but i used the lownsome hen call by knight and hale last year with great results, i called in a dozen or so birds with it.

RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
I want to say my Lynch' s FoolProof Hen box but if I gotta give a couple of clucks to get him just a bit closer I don' t even want to be without my Primos True Double.
This is one tuff choice......I ain' t about to leave home without either one. Counting down.......29 days until opening morning in Arkansas !!! |
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
Chalk up another for Knight & Hales Ol' Yeller.
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
lynch box and primos true double.
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
Either my Blodgett Tough Country slate or my Close Calls glass. Second would be a good tube call.

RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
I have a bunch of calls from wing bones to box calls, old and new. I carrie whole bunch when I turkey hunt and I use what everthe Turkey will come to. My favorite still is my old Lynch and Lynch slate.
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
Boy, it' s a toss up between two friction calls. H.S. Strut super raspy slate or Knight & Hale Old Yeller:)
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
Really, it' s a mouth call. I use it more than anything. I have for 30 years. It doesn' t much matter who' s it is. I started with Penn Woods 30 years ago and somehow seemed to acquire mostly Primos and H.S.Strut diaphrams now. It' s ALMOST the only thing I use anymore. I had a 30 year old Lynch box that I stepped on a couple years ago jumping up to go to a bird that I loved only for nostalgic reasons. I have a new Primos box that' s really got good sound, but it doesn' t get a lot of use. I' ve tried several other friction calls and usually carry a couple slates but unless a bird hangs, I don' t generally even take them out.

RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
i would have to say , my wing bone call :)
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
Another vote for the Knight & Hale Ol' Yeller call!! This one and the M.A.D. Super Crystal glass call are my two favorites!! I then have a bunch of mouth calls to choose from, also by Knight & Hale as well as Quaker Boy!!;)
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
If I was limited to only one, and I hope this never happens, I' d take my Cane Creek aluminum in the poplar pot with a hickory striker and my mystic stick striker.
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
I would have to pick my Lausman custom box call. It can create great cuts & perfect yelps, loud or soft.
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
My favorite friction call is a Cody World Class glass.
My favorite diaphram is the Gulvas 4-Runner. |
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
I' m there with Camohunter.
|
RE: Whats Your Favorite Turkey Call?
A Penns Woods Turpin Yelper. Been using it for 35 years but like most I use and carry many and different types of calls and have favorites in each style. But if I left one out of my bag at home and got to my hunting spot to discover the fact, the the only one I would go back and get is the Turpin Yelper. I' ve made that drive back to get this call a couple times over the years, just can' t hunt without it.[:o]
