How many decoys do use use
 

I was just wondering how many decoys you will be using in your hunt? I will be using one hen and one jake.

Most of the time, I will start out the 1st setup of the day with a jake and a hen. If I don' t have any luck with the 1st setup, I usually abandon the dekes. I prefer to run and gun and decoys are just something else to have to carry and setup and takedown. In my opinion they aren' t worth the hassle if you like to move a lot like I do.

Me and Garen used 4 decoy set up last February and it worked wonders. A bunch of big gobs came right in to them. They weren' t busted up yet, still around in big groups.

I usually use none, i always call in turkey' s without them so never brouht them out.

I usually carry two hens and a jake. It really depends on where I am hunting. I often dont carry them at all. Especially when Im moving alot. There have been times though that I did not have them and I wish I did.

i use two hens around late morning if i have had no luck and am sitting a while!!!

I usually use two,A hen&jake set up along with a slate or box call combination calling.It has worked fairly well,My son and I have got a double (Son one and Myself one) two times so far in the same sitting.

usaually 2-4, and sometimes none.. Just depends where i am. If i am in the woods, i might not use any, but if i am on a field, i will usually use 4.

None! I' m on the side of the debate on decoys that say they can do more harm than good. Too often, toms will either hang-up or turn the other way and leave. If you' re able to get a copy of this month' s Turkey Call magazine (put out by the NWTF) there is an article on this very subject. The reason many theorize that this happens is because decoys are not lifelike enough, sit on the stakes too high, have no motion, etc. They really don' t know why......I' ll take mine, but probably won' t use them.
