RE: Bad NWTF Experience

How did you join? Sometimes when people join through a banquet it might take a while. The tickets have to go through some chanels on the way to national headquarters. It also takes a little bit to recive your items/magazines. The NWTF magazine Turkey Call only comes out every other month and the other The Caller only comes out every four months. You might want to call 1-800-843-6983 and see if you can find the problem. Good luck

Be patient. They' ll come thru for you. Best looking magazine there is from the various Federations/Unlimiteds. It takes longer than you' ld think to get the ball rolling, but you' ll get it.

Some good points made here, as I will say aswell there are a number of people that work there and things do get slowed. I have always aswell found them slow but sooner or later you do end up with it. If your a first timer then getting started and into there system maybe the tie up.

I was at one of the worst banquets ever the other night, $75.00 per and the meal was Garbage! the Chapter Members/Workers were know were to be found. The Autioneer was a Dick. I was not very happy at all with it. I can' t blame it on the Oranization, I point the finger at the Chapter there the ones that set it up...BT

Maybe they are slow---they were with me---but I did not join for the " stuff" you get. I joined because of what they have done for the wild turkey. It was my way of saying thanks for all the wonderful times I have had hunting turkeys.

Be patient they' ll come through for you. I have been a member of the NRA, the North American Hunting Club and the NWTF. In my honest opinion, the NWTF is the finest organization I have ever been associated with.

Wow ButchA... I normally get a response from them w/in a day - but I' m mostly email the tech guy...

I' ve never had a problem with the NWTF - In fact, the thing I like about them is most of the money they get is poured back into the enviroment and restoration of the wild turkey. Not a lot of organizations can say that. I don' t know what your issue is ButchA, but if you can' t get a response from NWTF headquarters... contact your regional director - you might be able to get someone at least, and that someone has contact w/headquarters. - Hopefully your regional director is good... I think we have one of the best here in WA, always there to answer questions and get things going.

Hi WANWTF,

I was emailing the NWTF to inquire about area and habit around Virginia. Perhaps my email came across wrong like I was whining or something.... I don' t know.

See, I was asking about the state of Virginia and areas, clubs, private land, versus the public WMA' s (which can get almost DANGEROUS on a early Saturday morning [:o] ). I was just inquiring about turkeys and good areas to scout for them. Perhaps the email never went through, or the person ignored it. Who knows....

ButchA,
Hey Va brother! I noticed that you stopped by Va Turkey. That is one place to find the info that you are looking for. Also if you need to contact the Va State NWTF you can always stop by http://www.vanwtf.com and thier contact info is on the site. They also have a forum and Donna is very quick on answers if you have any that she can help you with. Hope this helps.

Scott

No, I didn' t figure you were whining - sorry if I gave off that impression ButchA... I know how frustrating getting information can be... I' ve been trying to put together things to help people out here in WA, but sometimes it' s like pullin' teeth to get anything together... I was just suggesting the regional coordinator because they probably are not as bombarded as those people at the national level probably are.
