So how many bags of feed did it take to get that bird up to 29.5 lb lol
Its funny you said that. The farmer feeds them left over grain during the winter. Im sure that he would have broke 30 lbs if I would have gotten him earlier before hestarted breeding/strutting.There are some good genetics around too. There is a jake around that dwarfs all the other jakes. Im guessing that jake and my bird are related.

We put him in the smoker that day. We literally had to jam his legs into his body to get him to fit and when we finished him in the oven his breast bone hit the top of the oven when it was on the lowest rack. Suprisingly he was the best wild turkey I have had. I figured that he would tough as nails but it was quite tender and juicy. Anyone want some? 20 lbs of turkey meat is alot.
