favorite locator call

I usually carry 3 or 4 different types of locator calls in my vest but get the best results out of the woodpecker call by Woods Wise. It is actually the Screamin peacock call but I use it as the woodpecker call. What is your best locator call?

Well, since you said favorite (and not necessarily the one that works "best")...

I'd have to say my Palmer owl hoot tube. It doesn't get the most gobbles; I just like using it.

I'm the same as Pops, owl hoot at first morning and I'll use a crow call the rest of the time. My crow call really hasn't done very well for me.

2001 Mazda Pick up driver side door. It used to be the 1988 Isuzu driver's side door.

I do this every time I hunt, and most of the time I get a gooble. Then I go and set up and got to the other calls.

By the time the season starts, the turkeys on the public land I hunt have already heard it all and don't respond much to any locator calls. However, if they make a THUNDER call, I will buy one. They respond eagerly to it everytime from what I've heard. Maybe if we have chili the night before we go out . . . ?

I use the Power crow or the H.S. strut hoot tube, but my favorite is the coyote howler, the coyote howler usually scares the gobblers so much they have to gobble.

My two favorites are a crow and an owl call. I always carry them both with me during the spring season!!!

I do the owl and crow with my voice. I don't seem to get a very good response with the owl. Maybe I can't make it loud enough. I did have good luck last year with coyote screamer. I seem to have the best luck with the call everyone else isn't using. I guess we all need more pockets, or a wheelbarrow !

I would have to concure with most everyone else. We use the owl call (by mouth) before daybreak then go to the crow almost exclusively. Haven't had much luck with the coyote but will still carry it along.

My favorite is the owl call,But if you have Canadian Geese in the area a honker seems to work well also,I was hunting on public land one evening and a guy walked past me blowing a owl hoot every hundred yards,as he was going out of hearing range a goose flew over the creek honking and two gobblers answered,Guess where I was the next morning?
