HeviShot 13....#5 or #6?
As some of you know I just purchased the Indian Creek turkey choke for my Mossberg 835. Soon I will pattern it, and I will be using HeviShot 13, 3.5", 2-1/4oz. My question is which shot would I get a better pattern with, and also better down range performance, would it be #5 or #6? I will purchase a box of each to test

RE: HeviShot 13....#5 or #6?
the 5's are larger and will have more energy....but 6's in hevishot have about the same energy as lead 5's....hevishot 5s will hit like lead 4's...
more 6's in a shell opposed to 5's...
shoot them both and see what pattern looks the best...pretty sure they still sell 5rd boxes...great for pattern testing...
speaking of hevi 13....i still got a 5rd box of 5s ive yet to pattern...i got 2 remington hevi shot 6's left...after that i'll be back to the drawing board...gunna start with the hevi 13s...aughta pattern well...everything else i fed the gun patterned well...
