Need advice

Hey i need some advice. How do you call in a flock of turkeys? They are ALWAYS in flocks around my area. i have yet to find a lone gobbler. I try to call in the hens but most times they just ignore me. Any ideas or advice on how to get the toms to come in? thanks.

Best way is to try to mimic the hens and try to draw the hens in. It's pretty tough to pull a gobbler off a bunch of hens.

My experience has been that you don't. Hens will mess things up for you 90% of the time. I would suggest watching their patterns and setting up for an ambush like deer hunting. May want to set out a decoy or two, but as tough as it is, I would lay off the call.

I think another eaisy idea would be to find out where the turkeys are roosting and set up so that they fly out of the roost close to you that way no calling is really needed.

well you could try to pick out the dominant hen and mimic her, but with that many hens it will be hard to do that.
if there is only one or 2 mature gobblers in the group you could always pull out a full strut deke and try to challenge the dominant gobbler.
or your best option is probly to get up a half hour earlier and get inbetween their roost and where they are headed.
