MO hunters
Do you guys think it's over already? Ive been out twice and both times i didn't hear many birds. The ones i did hear shup up as soon as they hit the ground. Even the morning i killed my turkey i only heard a total of about 4 birds. I was out with my cousin on one hunt and we had to gobblers 60 yardsaway still on the roost. We heard them fly off and they went the other way so i'm not sure what thats all about. And those were the onlytwo birds we heard that morning. So i'mjust curious to hear what your guys experiences have been. Thanks

No its not over! Be patient. I heard lots of gobbling today and yesterday. It all depends on where your at and the day.

RE: MO hunters
During the first week of the season, I killed a nice bird that came in with 4 other gobblers. I thought that was kind of odd for the rut and all. But this week, I've seen alot of toms, whom only gobble in the trees. As soon as they fly down, their with their honeys. I think, give it a couple of days, the hens will be nested and the toms will be looking.

RE: MO hunters
We killed a double last Thurs. I think they are just starting to get the hens bred, I'm guessing it is going to be getting better later in the season. Good luck

RE: MO hunters
On monday my cousin and me got on a tom that only gobbled about 5 times in the tree, but from the time he hit the ground till I shot him about 715, he gobbled like 200-300 times! Then we went back out at about 1000 and got on 2 toms together. They only got to gobble about 30 times, but that was because they came in so quick. They were all without hens, so to answer your question, I think the hens are just starting to sit, and it should get real good soon!
