So much advice
 
Hope you all will forgive my ignorance. But being this is my first turkey hunt, I keep hearing about different loads to use. I have always learned, as far as shot guns. the the higher the number of the load the larger the pellet. Hence you use for the larger birds. For example the prime load for ducks is #2 and a good load for pheasents are #4-#6. Could you all inform this well confused hunter.

You have it backwards. The lower the number the larger the pellet where a #2 is like the size of a " O" and a #6 is the size of a " o" .

In relation to turkeys, most shoot between a #4 - #6 in 3 or 3 1/2" magnums.

he' s right... personally, i like 5' s, but just whatever patterns better out of your gun...
