it really gives you no advantage, its just personal preference. i have a camo gun just because i liked the way the pattern looked. its up to you

The only thing camo in a turkey gun gives you is the ability to lose it when placing your decoys away from the tree you just decided to sit by. I don't know how many times I put my gun against the tree I want to set up at, put the decoys where I want them, then have to walk around like an idiot looking for my gun that just disappeared. Actually, as you don't move an all black gun will be fine.

I've killed birds with a wood/blue gun, an all black gun and a camo gun. Killed them wearing 100% camo and had them waltz right up to me in the fall while deer hunting while I'm wearing blue jeans, blaze orange and no facemask.

All about movement and outline. If you can hold still you can kill turkeys.... if you can't then get a ground blind.

My current turkey gun is camo, and the reason I bought it was because it was light, inexpensive, short and known to throw very good patterns. I could care less if it was camo or not.

Hey King - thank you - is a Remignton 11-87 SP 12 ga. - 3 inch - with a 21" Cantelever barrel with a Nikon Monarch Turkey Pro scope. The black portion is a neoprene Buck Creek Monte Carlo pad and is real comfortable. Those Rios where dropped with that gun in 2005 - one at a dead run.

The gun barrel and receiver is Matte finish as is the scope. The forearm and butt stock I just steel wool to dull it a bit.

Have a camo gun in 3.5 but is overkill - so went back to 3 inch.

Am considering a 20 ga.

camo looks good, but it doesn't matter when hunting

I have both and I would say that movement is the biggest thing.

It MIGHT help you, but as far as real important things go, i wouldnt worry too much about it. On the other hand, it does look cool. My Mossberg 835 is fully camo'd in Mossy Oak New Break-Up and it looks awesome!

I have a high-gloss walnut stalk and forend, I think it could lead to problems.
