NC....Opening morning!

Hunting on the Northeast Cape FearRiver this morning. A good friend had roosted this gobbler last evening, and graciously invited me down. In return for his kindness,I had the nerve to kill this 19# monster with 4(count'em)beards and 1 inch spurs. last chance I'll have to go untill I head out to KS and IA on the 28th,so I had to make it count!

I actually do very little(if any)hunting in our area Oneshot..... This land belongs to a patient of mine who was kind enough to offer the invite. I do most of my turkey hunting out of state for the past several years.

The land around here is hard to come by, but there are plenty of birds if you can find the right peice. They just have the turkey season for the coast too late really, the bird around my land has been henned up for three weeks. I already missed him once (today) and dont know how snesitive he will be to that, ecspecially since it wasnt far from his roost. We will find out in the next week or two I guess. I was hoping public land because I am having some trouble finding them on it, but anywhere that is a great bird. Congradulations
Brent
