Which gun?
I'm new to turkey hunting. I know you guys probably get sick of answering the "what's your favorite" or "which is best" questions, but I'm still going to ask one!
What is the best 3.5" auto loader for turkey? I know some of you have opinions that 3.5" isn't necessary, AND I know some of y'all might want to tell me to get a pump or a single shot, I've read that on this forum site and I know some of you feel pretty strongly about those kinds of things. That being said, I just want to know which 3.5" auto loader you'd recommend. Thanks for your help! |
RE: Which gun?
Get a Benelli

RE: Which gun?
Get what you like, feels good and is within your budget. I shot a Benelli, a Winchester Super X 3 (i think) and a Remington 11-87 #3. I went with the Remington. I have 6 Remington shotguns and rifles. They are a great gun at a great price. The only other gun that I wanted to try but couldn't find one to shoulder was the Beretta Extrema II. It's still on my "hit list" though. Just my opinion though, hope it helps:).

RE: Which gun?
i shoot a benelli supernova and love it, but its a pump and seeing as how you'd prefer an auto i'd definitely say go with benelli super black eagle. yes, i know the price is pretty steep, but its worth it. i own two benelli shotguns and they are the highest quality, toughest most reliable shotguns i've ever had. you won't regret spending the extra money in the end. you can get the super black eagle in either black synthetic or camo. check it out here- www.benelliusa.com hope this helps

RE: Which gun?
Mossberg 935 hands down. Mossberg makes the ultimate turkey gun.

RE: Which gun?
If this 3.5" auto gun is going to be strictly a turkey gun... then I'd make it a Mossberg 935.
FWIW.... I think the only game/target/hunting situation where a 3.5" shell is an overwhelming advantage is turkey hunting. There are those who swear by them for waterfowling, and while I see the merit behind it, I don't use them for ducks/geese. But turkeys.... I break out the big ones. |
