I use the old raspy hen also. I've shot a bunch of birds using it over the years.

I had used H. S. Strut, but perfer Quarker Boy.....

mouth call brands are like underwear...some like jockeys, some like briefs, some like boxers.......whatever feels most comfortable and makes you yelp good.

I dont like them either. Couldnt ever get em to sound right for me.[&:]User error probably.:D

I havent found a big box store brand Ive liked all that much. I like smaller companies better. Cane Creek Calls makes some good ones, but my personal favorite are LRGC.

Thats all i use anymore. not 100% sure on the new latex they are using but i will find out in 2 weeks.

I use H.S. Strutt and Mad calls I have had Great luck with the H.S. Strutt Double D mouth call and old glass call ( took last years gobbler with the glass)
Also hadgreat luck with the Mad aluminator call for bringing em in from long distance. I had a big gobbler fly of aledge andover a creek for that one.:D

They are all I use, cutt'n 2.5 is my favorite, the fang may just take it over this year.

No worries mohunter, the new latex is fine.
