Got this in an email today. Kind of debunks the hands in the cookie jar theory. Sounds like Keck and the others are apparently not thieves.

Dear NWTF Volunteers, National Board Members, Sponsors and Partners,
The last week has been a time of transition for the National Wild Turkey Federation, and we appreciate everyone’s patience during this effort.

As NWTF’s family pulled together to manage this period of change, our brief inward focus allowed speculation to fill the information gap. Thus, we want to take this opportunity to clarify some important points.

First, the NWTF annually undergoes an audit of its financial statements by a certified public accounting firm. The conclusion of the most recent audit, as has been the case with past audits, is the organization’s statements of position and activities received the highest level of opinion possible on their accuracy.

In addition, no allegations of criminal activity have been made.

While the organization has undergone change, it’s still made up of more than a half million of the most passionate and dedicated volunteers as well as our amazingly supportive and generous partners and sponsors. Because of all these wonderful people, we’re an organization that will emerge from this and move forward into an era of conservation success. We hope you’ll take that journey with us.

Okay -I went over to the NWTF message board and could not find one post, one comment on this recent issue to which I found eally strange.

I posted before the man did one heck of a job! We all as turkey hutners have been rewarded because of his leadership!

However- what concens me was the salary awarded him and othersfor a non-profit organization to which I upgraded to a Sponsor membership this year.

That does concern me deeply.

JW i been a sponsor member now since 1996 it to makes me wounder where my money has went last few years the NWTF has become greedy with Banquets and with money they like all of us to give but as a donor i would like atleast a thank you from them ya cant even get that anymore thats why major call companys stopped donating to them a few years ago

I know a person who heads a large charitable organization. Not only is it a full-time job but a difficult one as well. Whether the pay is too much all depends on how effective ($contributions) his work is. Does seem a little much though.

Well divide that salary by the cost of a typical membership - that's alot of memberships!

I do subscribe to the NWTF newsletter sent via e-mail. Do rad each one each month. Did also get that letter sent to me - to which I sent a reply back asking exactly what I have posted here. So let's ee if I get a response - bet not.
