A Question?

I was out walking the farm today and in a small 1/2 acre part of the field i found 16 turkey tail feathers. Is this good or bad? Where did they come from? Is it from the toms fighting? I know its a lot of questions but i just knot understand where all of these feathers came from because they were not there a few days ago.

RE: A Question?

well...... with that many feathers it sounds like one has been eaten........ probly a yote or a fox and if you predator hunt i suppose its a good sign .. . . . . . turkey huntin is another story and i'd try predator hunting around there before the hens start settin and raising poults

RE: A Question?

I saw the same thing last spring, and wasnt sure what it could have been. I found around 10 tail fan feathers on the backside of a log in a recently timbered lot. My guess is that a fox got him, because I had seen foxes around while hunting, but im not sure why only fan feathers would be left. I looked around but couldnt find a carcass anywhere. The feathers were spread out in about a 5 foot radius.

RE: A Question?

if turkey tail feathers came out that bad from just fighting with another gobbler then i don't think there would be one single tom in the woods with a tail left ya know i'd think it would be much more common to find feather blows like that too so i'd keep after the dogs around there
