RE: "how to" make a feathered decoy
I knew this guy who made a Decoy and talked how good it was. So I asked him a few questions and made one for myself.
I took a piece of 12"X1"X20" Pine Board and drawed a picture of a Hen Turkey on it and had a it cut out. I then Glued 2" Styarfoam on it and Shaped the Body. I then took some 2" Foam to make the Wings and Gluded them on. I shaped the neck and Head. I also used Glass eyes. Painted the Neck and Heada light Blue, Painted the Beak Yellow. I got some Brown Water Paint for the Body. I glued Real Feathers for the Tail. I use a Concrete Wall Form Tie for the Leg. Drilled some holes in the Edge of the 1" Pine. I had a Gobler come into it and I shot at it with an empty Gun:eek::([:@]A whole different Story. Say, when you are ready to hear it? TF |

that sounds pretty good "turkey fife"... i would like to see that decoy, it doesn't sound too hard to make. the only problem i have i how to make the head. how did the head look? lol, if i get to trying other ways to make decoys i will have a huge flock of decoys out.
