cleaning a turkey

how long do you have after the kill before you really need to clean the turkey. I think i'm going to just try breasting out the turkey. How long do you have and if you have a big enough cooler would keeping it in a cooler help? thanks

RE: cleaning a turkey

Keep it cool and keep in in the shade and you don't need to worry - but taking care of your game is #1

Heat, Moisture & Dirt are the things that can cause problems.

For instance - I have left a turkey all day in the shade at 40 - 60 degress and then cleaned at night. Had no problem at all.

There is a thread above how to Breast at turkey with pictures!-
