ya' ll remember that 10ga I bought?
Well I sold it today.[:' (]
A gun doesn' t do much good unless you have somewhere to buy ammo for it. And when I did get ammo it didn' t pattern worth squat. So I started working on my mossberg 500 12ga again. I stripped it down and cleaned it, fiddled with the choke, and changed the type of sling I had on it to one that doesn' t come in contact with the barrel. Then I patterned it again and it did much better.[&:] I drew a 2-3/4" diameter circle on a target and shot it from 35 yards with #6 shot. I got 8 hits in the 2-3/4" circle. Is this a good set up? The pattern did seem to have more gaps in it than I would like but it seemed ok. |

Sounds good to me. I also shoot a mossburg 500turkey gun with the extra full choke. Federal 3" #4' s work very well out of this gun for me. #5 shot patterns very well also but for some reason not as good as the 4' s. Try different brands of
shells also. |

Go buy a Tru Glo Strut Stopper Choke.....

Aw forget it.
I' m just going to shoot hevi-shot. $20.00 a box is steep but compaired to what I' ve already spent that' s nothing. (a box of 10 shells and I can only shoot 3 turkeys sounds fair enough.) I' ll be shooting a standard full choke unless a more open choke does better. Should I get #5 or #6 shot? |

kodiak- i have a mossburg 500 and the 31/2 #5 federal patterned the best.
