Make yer own Struttin Tom Decoy

Heck ya I made my own Struttin Tom from a Jake decoy I had and rarely used!
I have several fans mounted for this from a Jake's fan to a mature Tom Fan.

My Mich set-up - decoys are only 8 to 10 paces away from the blind. ( Oh dead ole gobbler there too!)
Tennessee - set-up decoys are 5 paces from the blind

Now mounting a fan like this is real easy and has lasted several yrs. I made a wood bracket to hold the fan to which I added a metal stake. The Jake decoy is rubber like and I folded his tail up into the open body cavity and tied it there. Makes the whole rig real easy to carry. The decoy goes in my vest and the fan is real lite to carry. has lasted throguh brush, rain, snow - all sorts of tough use!

Hope this helps - be creative - gives ya sumthin to do till ya hunt!

Like I said the Jake decoy I stick in a sack or in the back of my vest. The Hen is an old full body I use and then I use a Bobblehead swinging head jenny a further bit away.

The fan I just carry in my hand with the stake attached. It is very light.
