I am kind of new to turkey huntin and was wondered if anyone used the cuttin hook

Never heard of one. Where did you see it? Who makes it? how does it work? I' m just an hour away from you in Brandon, So maybe I can take a look at one too. Might just add another call to the vest...

You' re not talking about the " bird hook" on a knife, are you?

it is a mouth call that is gag free and positions it self at the exact right angle it is made my primos

Garebear, i never used the cuttin hook but I have used there palette plates for elk that work similarly. They work well but nothing that can' t be achieved with a regular diaphragm call. That is if they' re the same as the elk calls.

I love the palate plate calls from Primos, and I' m sure the Cuttin Hook will do the job. I used the Raspy Double Hook last year, and loved it. Was able to cackle and cut right out of the case. I looked at the Cuttin Hook, but didn' t pick it up. I bought a Clear Hook a few weeks ago, and haven' t got it sounding quite as good as I' d hoped. Doesn' t want to break over like it should, making it really high pitched and monotoned, but probably more the caller instead of the call. I think I' ll pick up a True Double or True Triple to see how I like them. I like the Raspy Double Hook a lot, and it is a stacked call so the reeds don' t stick together. If you' re like most of us, you' ll buy many different ones before you decide on a favorite.
