Here's mine...Most impressive about the bird is 1.625" spurs. When I took him to the taxidermist...he said it was the biggest gobbler he has ever seen and he has been doing taxy work since the mid '70s. Two beards...one was 10.25" and the second was 6.5"

Here's mine, just mounted him this past oct. myself. Beard length wasn't the best, at 8 1/2", but he was a heafty 24lbs, and 1 1/4 spurs.

Thisbird only weighed 18 lbs and had 1 inch spursbut he has 7 beards, you can only see 5, he has 2 really small ones at the top.

Dad, my best friend Kevin, and I all took birds this morning. For Kevin and I they were both our personal bests, although we shot them in opposite ends of VA. Dad shot a jake, the only jake he has taken since before I was born. The story is on the other thread if you are interested:

Picture quality is rather poor. This was before we had a digital camera. I scanned it in backwards and didn't resize it... its the only picture I have on the internet of this bird.

Good Lord Robert what did you shoot that thing with a Patriot missle! :D Thats a pretty bird, save what you did to his head... though thats pretty in its own right!
