i live n southcarolina nd i am pretty big n 2 hunting nd fishing but the turkey is new 2 me nd i would like 2 start hunting them as well any advice on calls and techniques would be greatley appreciated.

This is a question I have seen asked more often than any other. Technique is a matter of situation, and there are an infinite amount of situations within situations. The best advice I have seen given, to a new turkey hunter, is to hook up with an experienced hunter and get him/her to let you tag along, or get them to do some calling for you. You will hear all sorts of "rules" about turkey behavior, but the one thing is that turkey don't know the rules, they will act completely opposite to what the "rules" say. Sometimes, you can do everything right and come home empty.

Just follow this site a little till season comes theres alot of great call builders like myself can help you in the aid of your calls also there alot of veteran hunters here that been after them gobblers like myself for many years so welcome aboard any questions just ask away someone will be glad to assist

the best calls for a beginning turkey hunter are box calls, slate calls, or push button style calls. remember, practice makes perfect, so you must put inlots of practice with all types of calls to be a proficient turkey caller. personally i prefer mouth calls for their versatility, realistic sound, and the fact that they can be used with no movement whatsoever. but you shouldbegin withthe calls i mentioned earlier before trying a mouth call, because mouth callsrequirehours ofpractice and alot ofpatience to master. i hope this post answers some of your questions.
