Turkey chokes
I've been looking at some turkey chokes for my 870 with 28" barrell. I just bought some boxes of Remington Wingmaster HD.
I hear good things about the Primos Jellyhead, also looking at Primos Tightwad, H.S. Undertaker, and Truglo Gobbler Stopper, I'm looking for something less than $50 preferably. Are any of thses one you would recommend for me? The Undertaker says it is designed for the Hevi-shot I think. Does that matter? Thanks |

For under $50 I would go with the Jellyhead.

I will let ya know, when I decide which one to get, sounds like the jellyhead is the most popular in my price range.

RE: Turkey chokes
I also use the Jellyhead and am very happy with it. About the Undertaker, yes it matters which one you get. If you are shooting HD's, make sure you get the hevi shot Undertaker. They are all about $19.99. The Jellyhead is going to cost you $39.99 to $45.00. I would try the Jellyhead if I were you, but of course I am a little bias. I will post my HD patterns with the Jellyhead this weekend some time.

RE: Turkey chokes
I would go with either the Jellyhead or the Tru Glo Strut Stopper Xtreme, which isn't to be confused with the gobble stopper choke. You can order the SSX from the National Wild Turkey Federation website www.nwtf.org. Either choke is a great choice and I have gotten similar patterns and results from both the Jellyhead and the SSX in my Rem 870 SPS-T with thumbhole. The SSX is about $35 where the Jellyhead is about $45.
