mossberg 835?

im lookin for a new pump action 12ga shotgun. i would like to keep it under $400. it needs to be versatile, because it will be used not only for turkeys, but other game birds, small game and skeet. so far i am leanin towards the Mossberg 835, but if any one has any other suggestions i would be very grateful

thanks

I shoot an 835 for turkeys. My sons each have a Benelli Nova. The Novas are very smooth handling. I think they would make a better all around gun than the 835. Some people complain that the forearm rattles, but to me that's a non-issue!

I'm an 835 fan. I've owned two of them over the years, and can complain very little about their performance for the amount of &&&& I invested. Killed a lot of turkeys and ducks with them.

Most of it is gonna depend on you but I use my 835 for turkeys, but I really don't do much Waterfowling!

Either one is a good choice. The 870 may be more durable. I like the barrel on the 835 for turkey, but the 870 is a great all around gun.
Now that I think about it. If you only get one gun, get the 870 Super Mag.

Whichever one you get, get a Hastings extended choke tube for turkey hunting.

I believe the 835 is cheaper than the 870. I've shot my 835 for five years now and taken turkeys, ducks, and pheasant. Its a little heavy for skeet and pheasant but you can get by. Nothing fancy just meat and potatoes that gets the job done.
