tru glos or red dot
I got a Mossberg 535ATS last season and hunted with the tru gols on it from Mossberg except the end piece broke. Now Im trying to decide between just replacing that or putting on a red or green dot scope on it and I wanted to see what yalls input is.
Yall have any experience with both or anybody have any preferances and why??? Thanks, John |
RE: tru glos or red dot
I used to have a red dot... and after a TSA inspector apparently messed with it and left it on and I landed in Amarillo, TX at 2am with no way to sight my gun... I took it off and left it off.
I use a Nikon standard fixed reticle scope. 2-7x32... I leave it on 2x. Works great... no batteries to die or to remember to turn on. |

I had a red dot but changed to a Williams Firesight Slugger sight.I changed because I has trouble seeing it in bright sunlight

RE: tru glos or red dot
Well, thanks yall for the input. Im not as much worried about the batteries. Id always have a backup in my vest if I noticed it gettin a bit less bright as it should be. The regular scope idea doesnt seem like it would work as well in low light conditions such as right off the roost in my opinion. Even my scope on my .22 for coon huntin has to have decent light in front of it on the coon to be bright enough to shoot. Im still debating between the tru glo sights and the red/green dot scopes.
Anybody else got any input?? Thanks yall, John |
