Hello

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'mnew to the site and wanted towade in slow and get my feet wet so to speak. I'm from SC and love to hunt turkey's withgun or bow (prefer the bow) (just something aboutREAL up close and personal!)Anyway,if I can help any beginners I'd be more than happy, and am always looking to learn a few new tricks from the veterans.

RE: Hello

The turkey contest is for fun and bragging rights. First thing to do is sign up. You can sign up in this forum at the top of the page that says 2008 Spring turkey hunting contest. We draw teams on March 3rd. There will be teams of 10 members randomly drawn by Younggun308. Then the team you are selected to be on starts a new thread and they pick a captain. Once you kill a turkey you must score the turkey (which is very easy to score, see the post on the contest rules) report your score to your captain of your team. He then gives Younggun, JW or myself the score. We make sure the score is correct and we take it from there. It is not as complicated as it seems. Its fun. It get us all to interact with each other. Its quite fun, you get to see eveyones turkeys and see how they do things. Come on join the fun...

I know the area a little bit. My wife's family lives in Fountain Inn, and her brother lives in the Hickory Tavern area. We lived that area about 8 years before we moved east to fish in the saltwater.

Salt water is fine Beezer, I've been wanting to do a trip for tuna. Fountain Inn is about 10-15 minute ride for me. My wifes folks live in Fork Shoals, which USED to be in the country. Now Simpsonville is encroaching on them fast.

Thanks for the welcome. It sounds like you've got some real good area to hunt. That Mulie in the back of the truck is sure a nice one.
