You bought a Remington... Why not try a Remington Super full turkey choke;)

Depends on what type of shell your going to be shooting? Using lead or copper plated lead loads, I'd suggest using a Kick's .665 choke. Quite a lot of guys I know use these chokes, and rave about them when shooting lead. Now for Hevishot loads, the Primos jellyhead is getting rave reviews as well as the Rhino chokes. Either way, they aren't cheap, but you get better results than using the factorychokes in my opinion.;)

I shoot the same gun butwith the 3.5'' shells. I use a remington super full turkey choke and the Remington Premier buffered copper plated turkey loads in hte number 4 shot and can kill them out to 45 yds with no worries.

I don't mean to just jump in, but I hunted with the Remingtom 1187 up until two years ago (gave it to my nephew). I always used just the factory full choke, and harvested every bird I put it on. However, I agree with some of the other folks that an aftermarket choke tube is best, and worth the cost. It sure beats biting into copper when you decide to eat that bird. Where did you get a 21" 1187, I thought the shortest barrel length was 26", and is that legal where your from, not to mention shot pattern out of a 21" barrel. Just curious!

I've got 3 Rem turkey guns and all of them shoot good at 40 yards with the Rem super full choke... Never seen a need for the Nitro band wagon;)

Now you know why nitro pays all the celeb to use it;)

Hey, by all means SPgo out and get the Rhino and Nitro combo... Prob cost ya 200 bucks... The Rem super full will prob only cost about 25.00 bucks...

And still kill a gobbler just as dead at 40 yards;)

I have had great luck with an HS undertaker choke tube shooting Hevishot through my 11-87.
