I have bagged my tom every year with my binelli SBE with the 30 inch goose barrel. Have a chance to buy a 25 inch barrel for it an just got a Double Bull blind so think the long barrel will be a pain. Are you shooting 25 inch with success? Does it spread the pattern much? Thanks.

With the new choke tubes that are available, length don't make much difference.

I agree with strut. I don't think it will make any difference if you had a 21,24 25 or 26 inch barrell with all the chokes available they all should shoot good enough to shoot out to 40 yards.

I have Rem. 1187 w/ 28" barrel and a Moss. 835 w/ 24" barrel. They both shoot fine with a good choke. The correct chock and load is much more important than the barrel length. Both guns are turkey killing smoke poles. Probably the most important thing is the guy pulling the trigger!

I bet "Bear Bryant" would have been a "Turkey Hunting Warrior!"

Thanks. I'm going to buy the shorter barrel. I'll try the Madd tube I have and check the pattern. Good hunting.

I agree. Barrel length's of 21&quot;-24&quot; are ideal for a turkey gun!! If you going to use this gun for other game such as grouse, ducks and geese, then get a longer barrel!! But the shorter barrels are much easier to manuver around in the woods, and in a blind. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

i shot a 21&quot; barrel with a extended extra full remington choke so its like 22...patterns GREAT..my mossberg with a 28 patterned good but this remington with the 21 is way better...i think its the perfect turkey gun...so nice and light..and when things are in the way of moving the short barrel is alot nicer...
