What kind of sights do you use?

What kind of sights do you use on the turkey gun you'll be hunting with this year?
I use fiber optics on my front sight, and there's a normal rear sight.

right now i just have a fiber optic front bead...which works fine. But i checked Red Dot because something about these dudes being strapped to the top of a pistol grip shotgun looks sooooo sweet to me. Im just waiting to see how my money spreads out. I dont wanna spread it too thin.:D

Truglo 40mm red dot on top of my Benelli SBE with a steady grip stock. I like it because I can keep both eyes open and see the dot really well and also what is going on around me, which helps if you arein a mess of turkeys.

I use a Nikon 2-7x32.

And leave it on 2x. Really helps on close birds.

Used to have a red dot. Flew to Texas on a red-eye to hunt birds at 5am and the next four days. I suspect a TSA inspector turned on the scope to mess with it, but I landed in Amarillo, TX at 2am with a dead 2032 battery, and no replacement. Addmittingly, my fault for not planning that sort of thing... but I was glad my FO sights were still set. The Red Dot never went back on the gun. I don't really rely on anything that is JUST electronic in a sight system.

I hadda scope a few years back as the ole eyesight got so poor I could not see the back ramps of my trueglow sights.....

But am very glad I did. Nikon Monarch Turkey Pro Matte Finish on a Matte finish 11-87 - had the scope on now for 5 years - beat the ever luvin' crap outa of it and it is spot on everytime I check...

WhichI will be doing again soon....always check!

Tri Viz for me too! They are great and easy to pick up on your target.

I hunt Spring Gobblers with my A-bolt Browning and a 1X4 Leupold scope which doubles for my deer slug gun by changing chokes.

The eye relief is such I am somewhat limited to the 1X when shooting from my normal setting/calling position. To use the 2-3-4 power requires head movement closer to the scope.

I have harvested several Spring gobblers using this gun over the last 12 years including three last Spring...2 in PA. and I have not lost a bird due to the scope or a missed shot.

The scope gives a clear view of the turkey/beard length, has enough field of view at 1X so I can can be certain my pattern will not hit another bird standing nearby and gives my senior eyes a good clear sight picture.

I have harvested several Spring Gobblers over many years using different shotguns with the normal shotgun sights. It is more important to pattern you gun with what ever sight you choose and aim as it works on paper.

Ok, so some call them beads. I prefer to call them balls and my 12ga 870 has them, the front one is painted bright white, since it has yellowed with age, lol kind of like me.[&:]

i use the fiber optics on my Mossberg 835. But in the latest Cabelas Spring Turkey Edition, i saw some sights called "Sight Science Turkey Buster" sights. I might try these out.

Ihave the TruGlo Magnum Gobble Dot adjustable sights on my gun now. I really like them. They are nice and crisp and not overly big. Definitely what I'll need shooting these Nitros if the turkey gets too close. A front bead simply won't cut it with Nitros if the bird is too close.
