cody slate calls

Are cody slate calls worth the price? Are they real effective on birds?

You're right Mike, A few years ago Cody had that problem. What made most people mad is they wouldn't stand behind their product. They would fix it but they wanted $15 plus you paid the shippin.Years ago I bought a Red Wolfe gobble tube. The chamber kept commin away from the bell.I called Red(he was still livin then)He was so sorry.Seems some calls made it out the door without the tape.He told me how to fix it over the phone and then sent me a whole new call just for my trouble.Next time I saw Red he was still apologizin about that. That's the kind of company I like to deal with

Way overpriced for what you get.Lots of other callers out there, that are better, you just have to find the one's that work the best for you.I own 3 Cody's at this time<and ill never buy another!

I have two Cody's, a slate and a glass. I haven't had any problems with either, and I'm pleased with them. I think they are very much worth the price. Good calls.

I've owned two cody calls, both codyII. The first one had the problem others have mentioned. It was replaced without any additional cost to me. I've met Bill and he seems to be the kind of man that would back up his product. I'm disappointed to hear that others had problems with Bill or their calls. As a question, how many of you own Blogett calls, and how do they compare to the codys, in sound, quality and price. I'v been thinking of buying one to add to my "orchestra" of calls.

Yawk2me,
I just bought a Tough Country slate from Blodgett. It's the best friction call I've ever owned. It's very, very loud and high-pitched. The sound comes off it very easily. I'm also very pleased with it's appearence, it's got detailed engraving of a longbeard sneaking through the timber. Awesome call.

PBB, thanks for the input. I may be at harrisburg , hopefully Blodgett will be there. I was hoping to get to the NWTF convention to pick up a call or two but can't make it this year.
