This is my first spring turkuy hunt and i
was gonna get some foam deeks. and was wondering
if any of you guys used them or if it was wothmy while buying some..
also how many toms and hens i should have in my spread... and if it was worth using my goose hunting layout blind or buying a screen...
thanks for your responses..

Yes I use the foam decoys. I myself use between 1 to 3 hens depending on the set up. I dont use the jake decoy I have. Ive never had much luck using the jake. They arent real expensive...

When hunting open fields I use a single Buckwing Bobb-N-Head hen decoy...with a slight breeze she will movelike she isfeeding and really gets a gobblers attention and keeps their beady little eyeballs off of me.

I use the featherflex dekes. You can get them for under 20 bucks. I usually use one or two hens. I have a jake also, but rarely use it. The featherflex's are very mobile, easy to carry around.

I got a "love-triangle" of two hens and one jake. I usually just use the hens, but from time to time I use the jake. I have just had better success using just the hens.

You will become a better turkey hunter without decoys, unless you have only a limited spot to hunt. Doesn't hurt to have a hen deke in your bag for mid day breaks, or rainy field days tho.

I use them but not that often. I always carry at least one hen decoy with me on every hunt just becauseI never know when I'll need it.

I usually use one hen and one jake, should probably pick up a bobble head hen too... Sometimes no decoy seems to be the best but you generally don't know what situation that applies to unless you happen to be sitting there thinking to yourself "damn, I shouldn't have put out a decoy!"
