RE: field dressing turkey?
Noooo, I bring my RI birds to the check station before I do anything. I'm not sure, but I believe they want the bird before it gets cleaned so thats how I bring it to them. Even the birds I shoot in CT that I don't need to check I bring home before I dress it out. I just try to keep it cool.

RE: field dressing turkey?
Wisc is the same - so is Tennessee - need to check in before you do anything - Michigain is not - Oklahoma is not - Georgia is not - Nebraska is not - Kansas is not - Iowa I am not sure now.
But those are the states I usually hunt. JW |

RE: field dressing turkey?
In Misery, oops Missouri it is a phone check. Most times you may want to get to where someone can take pics of you and your bird. Check your bird 1st (if required), before you doany carving on it.Reguardless ifit is a phone, computer, or check station check. That way if you are stopped and checked by your Game Warden, they can see that you have checked your bird and you are being honest. I generally just wait until I get back to the lodge or home to clean my bird. There I will have water to cleanthe meat and clean up and bags to store anypartsI want to keep and can quickly get the meat/parts on ice or in the freezer. I do it this way in whatever state I am hunting.

RE: field dressing turkey?
I would ask the people at the test station how they are to be brought it. This way you know that you are conforming to your local laws.
