what's the easiest raspy cutter out there?
 

I've tried a Primos, Ricky Bishop, quaker boy, HS strut, and Lohman.
IMO the HS strut cuttin 2.5 was the easiest and required less air than the rest, but there's bound to be a better (medium raspy) cutter out there somewhere.

in ya'lls opinion, what is the one call that requires less air, and is easy, simple, and yet has a good quality medium raspy sound to it?

As with BB I also am an advicate of HS's cuttin 3.5.But Bo my own personal favorite is H.S's split V 3!For me it produces sharp,distinct notes even when cutting with good rasp!I can roll right into excited yelps or aggrevated purrs with this call and have fooled many a longbeard with it!!!Bob <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would have to agree with bogobble, my favorite is the HS Strut Cuttin' 2.5 also. It is the one I pull out to use if I need a mouth call. It has great sound and is very easy to learn to use. MTT

Hey Bob, how close is that v3 to the v5. I had
one of the v5's and it was a little too high
pitched for me, and not very raspy. I think
it was a v5?

Hey guys, that H.S. Strut cuttin' 3.5 was my personal favorite for many seasons!! But then the quality seemed to go south on that call for some reason? I haven't picked that one up in the last 3 years now. I hope that they started making them better again!! Knight & Hale has some great new sounding calls with their new brown tape and yellow latex!! I also like the Quaker Boy &quot;Jagged Edge&quot; call as well, it's Real raspy!!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

As Maytom said &quot;Brown tape yellow latex&quot; by Knight & Hale. These are called Ulimate Hunting Team Series. Also try 4 reed shocker cutter by Knight & Hale.

I like Knight and Hale's
Half Moon Cutter.
I'm an average mouth caller at best and even I can get
good sound out of that call.

what is the difference between like just a double or triple reed mouth call or like you guys are talking about the 2.5, 3.5, V cut.

Bucky buddy if you take a mouth call and look at the tab side ,, you will see all the reeds. Its common to have a 3 reed or a 2.5 , now you see the Top or longest reed t,, then there is another below the top one, now thats 2 reeds (if) there is another one below the second all evenly spaced that is a 3rd reed ,,, BUT if there is a reed that is farther lower then the rest that only covers half of the frame that is a half reed or a .5 reed. hope that helps ya bud...BT
